Lenghi Teng (1976) started photography after working for years in the financial business. She pursued her intuition and made a deep jump into the unknown, the visual world.
Lenghi’s work is centered on the Japanese philosophy Wabi Sabi. The Wabi Sabi philosophy is connected to the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence specifically impermanence, suffering and emptiness or absence of self-nature.
Her series Within is a beginning of a journey that invites us to see the beauty in imperfection, to discover that our unique flaws also can lead us to our greatest strengths and treasures.
The calm atmosphere in her work evokes a sense of stillness and serenity, as if time stands still. A moment, to free our thoughts and to look deep inside ourselves.
